Keeping track of daily achievements

  • Music: practiced the last part of the Rondo of K545, trying to get the slurs right, printed out and started to look at Chopin's Nocturne in C# minor
  • Health: left thumb hurting a lot yesterday and today, easing off this evening. Electric shocks this morning while walking to the office and this evening driving to Kent – one near the beginning and smaller one just near Tenterden. Had one in bed last night. Otherwise 2 previously.
  • Installed Garuda Linux on Monday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smre_kSpcnc
  • Music: Started reading Super Sight-Reading Secrets by Howard Richman which looks actually quite good

  • Music 🎵: signed up for the AST at pianostreet.com and started listening to some performances of Mozart's Sonata Facile that I'm learning at the moment
  • Hammerklavier is the German word for a fortepiano which I hadn't heard until Andrea used that term – only heard it in conjunction with the Beethoven Sonata
  • Started listening to The Story of Classical podcast on Apple Music which is (as per reviews) really good.

  • Piano: found this useful reddit post with actually some super useful and varied advice on how not to make quite so many mistakes when playing the piano

  • Music: listened to Heart of the Piano interviews with Erica Worth and Adam xxx. Too many people playing like typewriters – 54:30 – Erica talking about what people might not like about competitions.

  • Music: Listened to Heart of the Piano podcast, Bob Rose, interviewing Tim Topham who I hadn't heard of before – prominent in the music education world – based in Australia – NOT “conservatory trained”!

  • Music 🎵: Read first article of Melanie Spanswick's blog – a few of the first ones only available on wayback and no index page, did a section of Paul Harris Sight Reading Grade 3, practised just a section of All Creatures, Rondo Scherzando and Invention in A minor
  • Health 🥦: Cycled to St Pancras for lunch at Carluccios with PP
  • Tech 🧰: Started to create ear training app as per suggestions at miles.be, found Tailwind Generator
